8. ATTACH THE FEM AND HGA.

• Position the triangular notches at the bottom of the FEM on top of the SOLAR PANEL SUPPORT ARM. The notch marked with some crosshatching should go on the same side as the PEP. Center the FEM on the SPACECRAFT BUS and secure with glue.

• Position the HIGH-GAIN ANTENNA so that its small rectangular hole will be on the same side as the PEP. Place the HIGH GAIN ANTENNA dish down onto the top of the FEM and secure it to the FEM with tiny drops of plastic glue.

• Release the ALTIMETER ANTENNA from sheet B. Bend a 90-degree crease into its hinge (bend it either way).

• Position the ALTIMETER ANTENNA as shown in the diagram on page 2, on the side opposite the PEP. Position its crosshatched tab under the HGA's collar, and the shaded end of its strut just above the SOLAR PANEL SUPPORT ARM near the base of the FEM. Secure with glue.
