KOSMO is one of the oldest rocketry clubs in the Plains states. The club was originally founded in 1980 by Kenneth McAlpine and Mark Johnson. We have members across Kansas and out of state. Our members include teachers, engineers, students, government employees, electronics types, and others. Two of our charter members have degrees in Aerospace Education. We fly model and high power rockets, mostly in and around Wichita and Great Bend, Kansas. Several of our members hold or have held national model rocket records. We hold monthly launch events approximately nine months out of each year, and will hold our 24th annual NAR Regional meet on June 5-6, 2004.
